SOHANIoT Support Center
Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers for fleet operators, distributors, system integrators and OEM partners evaluating AI video telematics, GPS tracking and connected-vehicle solutions.
Start with the right configuration
Vehicle type, operating environment, network coverage, camera layout and local regulations all affect the recommended solution. The answers below explain our usual approach; your project team can confirm the final configuration before deployment.

How SOHANIoT supports commercial-vehicle operations.
What does SOHANIoT provide?
SOHANIoT provides connected vehicle solutions that combine in-vehicle devices, video telematics, GPS positioning, AI safety alerts and cloud-based fleet-management tools. The goal is to make vehicle, driver and event data easier to see, assess and act on.
Which vehicle applications can the solutions support?
Typical applications include logistics and trucking, public transit, school buses, taxis, mining and construction vehicles, delivery fleets and OEM or integrator programs. The final design depends on the vehicle, camera coverage, workflow and local operating requirements.
Is this only a dashcam solution?
No. A dashcam records video; a connected telematics solution can also combine location, vehicle status, alerts and remotely accessible evidence. Depending on the selected product, this can support incident review, driver-safety workflows and day-to-day fleet visibility.
How do I choose between an MDVR, GPS tracker and camera-based solution?
Start with the operational objective. Multi-camera MDVR configurations are suited to richer video evidence and monitoring; GPS trackers focus on positioning and vehicle status; AI camera solutions add event detection and driver-assistance functions. Projects often combine these capabilities.
Technology, hardware & AI
Questions about devices, video and intelligent alerts.
What AI safety functions may be available?
Available functions vary by device and configuration, and may include driver-status monitoring, forward-risk alerts, blind-spot awareness and event-based video capture. We confirm supported functions against the selected hardware and target market before quoting a project.
Can the devices work where connectivity is limited?
Devices can continue recording locally when mobile coverage is interrupted. The timing and scope of live data, remote video and later synchronization depend on the device, storage setup, network conditions and configured data policy.
How is video evidence handled?
Video can be recorded locally and, where the configuration permits, retrieved or reviewed remotely through the fleet platform. Camera count, resolution, storage capacity and retention policy should be planned according to the operational and regulatory needs of the project.
Are products suitable for demanding commercial-vehicle environments?
Commercial-vehicle use calls for robust installation, stable power handling and appropriate environmental protection. Exact ratings, operating conditions and installation constraints vary by product, so the applicable specification sheet should be reviewed for each deployment.
Integration, deployment & operations
What a practical implementation looks like.
Can SOHANIoT integrate with an existing fleet-management system?
Integration options can include platform interfaces and data exchange for selected projects. Before implementation, we assess the existing system, required data fields, authentication method, update frequency and ownership of integration maintenance.
Can the solution be customized for an OEM or distributor program?
OEM and customization programs can cover device selection, branding, interfaces, feature configuration and supporting materials. Feasibility, lead time, certification scope and minimum order requirements are confirmed through the project review process.
What information is needed to prepare a recommendation?
A useful starting brief includes:
- Vehicle types and fleet size
- Countries or regions of operation
- Required cameras, safety functions and tracking data
- Existing software or integration requirements
- Installation model and desired launch timing
What support is available after deployment?
Support scope can include product documentation, installation guidance, remote troubleshooting and project coordination. The agreed service model depends on the product, partner arrangement and deployment region.
Data, privacy & compliance
Key questions to resolve before rollout.
How should a fleet approach driver privacy?
Privacy requirements differ by jurisdiction and operating model. Fleet operators should define a clear purpose for collection, give appropriate notice, limit access, establish retention rules and configure relevant privacy controls. Legal and policy review should be completed locally before rollout.
How is access to fleet data managed?
Access should be set up around operational roles, so users see only the vehicles, events and functions required for their work. We recommend reviewing account roles, password practices, device ownership and access removal procedures as part of deployment.
Which certificates or approvals are available?
Applicable certificates and approvals depend on the product model and target market. Please request the relevant documents during product selection; the project team can confirm what applies before purchase or shipment.
Can you help with local regulations and installation requirements?
We can provide product and installation information for project planning. The fleet operator, distributor or local partner remains responsible for confirming legal, privacy, road-safety and installation requirements in the deployment market.
